Giving back to the community is one of the key objectives of Round Table each year. In 2021/2022 we were able to distribute fundraising proceeds from Dorchester Cider Festival to worthy causes in the local area.

Here is our round-up of all the donations made by Dorchester Round Table in the last six months…

KixStart

In October 2021 we presented the great Dorchester organisation KixStart with a donation of £250.

KixStart provide opportunities for individuals of all ages with disabilities and learning difficulties to benefit from active participation in football and related training activities.

Longmead Community Farm

We were approached by Longmead Community Farm in 2021 to support their independent charity based in Milborne St Andrew, near Dorchester.

We hope our donation of £500 will help Longmead’s valuable work with disadvantaged families and young people in Dorset, who are in need of support.

Dorchester and Broadmayne Scouts

We donated £500 t0 Dorchester and Broadmayne Scouts – we always appreciate their assistance with the Cider Festival clear-up.

Dorset County Hospital

In February 2022 we were delighted to make a donation of £750 to Dorset County Hospital Charity in support of the Greatest Need Appeal and amazing work of DCH.

The Mayor’s Chosen Charities

Also in February 2022, we supported the chosen charities of the Mayor of Dorchester, Gareth Jones with a £500 donation.

The local charities selected by the Mayor are The GAP Project with Dorset Mind – the eco-therapy community garden off Lubbecke Way. As well as Mid Dorset Mencap – Community Café and Shop in Trinity Street which aims to improve the quality of life for local people with learning difficulties.

Thanks again to Gareth for offically opening the Cider Festival on the bandstand last year!
