£300 Donation to Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy

16 May 2021

Dorchester Round Table are pleased to have made a £300 donation to Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The funds will help to help support the organisation's work providing vulnerable local people with long-term, low-cost counselling.

Counselling for key workers

As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy have set up a scheme offering six free counselling sessions to key workers in Dorchester and the surrounding areas. Since April last year, the Trust have provided counselling to 85 local key workers and this is still ongoing.

£300 Donation to the Trust

We were approached by the counselling organisation for funding in April and we were all in agreement that the cause was a very worthy one to support. On Saturday 15th May 2021, representative of Dorchester Round Table, Ralph Wheeler met with Dave Lakins, Trustee from DTCP for the cheque presentation.

Ralph Wheeler presents Dave Lakins (Trustee, DTCP) with the £300 donation cheque.

Kate Hooper from Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy said:

"The donation will pay for our yearly subscription to the CORE system licence. This is an invaluable tool as it allows us to measure the clinical impact of our work by assessing clients at the start and end of their time with us and enables us to easily see and monitor the improvements made. We believe that everyone needing counselling or psychotherapy should be able to access help regardless of their financial situation. Since 2005, we have provided long-term, low-cost therapy to people living in Dorchester and the surrounding areas who are unable to afford private treatment which can cost as much as £70 per hourly session."
Dorchester Round Table are very proud to support DTCP and we hope that our donation helps the Trust. Find out more about Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy here: www.dtcp.org.uk
